School performances

The Group of Historical and Scenic Fencing Štvanci prepared the following programme:

Stable offer of historically-educative programmes for elementary schools

1. Old Czech Tales
2. Charles IV. and Jan Žižka from Trocnov
3. Rudolph II. and William Shakespeare
4. Albrecht of Waldstein and Mari Theresa

Famous duels or literary duels live. By means of an entertaining and educative performance the curious audience can witness scenic actions from the most famous epizodes of the world of literary dramatic artworks.

Even spectators can participate in the whole theater of history. Apart from others this historical scene also reveals the backstage of the film and fencing performative.

Possible questions will be gladly answered by the profesional performers themselves during the debate at the end of the whole show. Now the students can expect to reveal behind-the-curtain of history and stand face-to-face to portaits of the lives of William Shakespeare and Edmond Rostand.

The programmes were arranged and prepared by the group Štvanci.

Comedians on the Buggy prepared:

• Juggler workshop

  For those who might be interested in untraditional activities (both children and adults) we offer a juggler workshop. This means that we will come to wherever you are, and introduce you to various juggler techniques. Balls, skittles, swinging, rotation of plates, Venecian stick, one-wheel bikes and others. We have the basic equipment for all courses, and for schools we are able to supplement these workshops with a performance which could be an inspiration to those who would like to try this untraditional theater technique.

• Circus will be ... maybe

  In cooperation with the marionette theater eMILLIon from Jihlava we offer a physical theater performance which is set in the "old-style" circus enviroment. Hand in hand jugglers and marionettes allow the spectators to see behind the curtains of preparation of circus performance. You can see jugglers, clauns, ropewalker, strong woman or manege.

  The lenght of the peformance is app. 30 - 60 min.

• The knightly tale of the princ Bajaja

  Script and direction: Jan Bílek
  Staring: King, Queen,Bajaja, Horse named Venca, Dragon Cruelly, Princesses and humble Knights

  A tradional fairy tale which we all know comes to life in front of our very eyes. The spectators become the witness of Bajaja´s suffering, the decision making of the King and the grand triumph victory during which the Dragon Cruelly ends his miserable life. At the end together with children, dressed up as princesses and humble knights we are the witnesses of the grand defile. Of course all ends with the King´s blessing and an enormous wedding. All is situated on our comedian buggy which becomes both the castle, the throne, the cave, even the tilt-yard.

• Even the Famous Fought

  Staring: Tycho de Brahe , Händel, Lermontov and others

  A drama based on the true life-stories of famous individuals who are very important to us. Despite their fame even these "personas" went through times when trivial fights almost made them loose their lives. The first two Tycho de Brahe and Händel were lucky but Lermontov´s life faded due to such a hassle. In this performance the spectators can not only learn something but also discover the differences between the individual forms of fencing throughout the ages.

• On the Buggy to Bethlehem, a performance for both the small and the big (PREMIERE)

  In this performance two minstrels offer the spectators their story inspired by the birth of baby Jesus. Everyone came, brought the gifts, gave the best he/she could and so let´s see what our minstrels came to offer to baby Jesus.
  The story itself is enlightened by different juggler tricks, singing, plus dress-up as the characters drawn by Mikulas Ales´s Bethlehem you can also witness other figures from the tale of the Holly Birth. At the end the children will not only see a Christmas tree but also can admire a slowly-being-prepared Bethlehem.
